|Fair Oaks overpass project on Interstate 10 could slow your weekend
A summer weekend of road construction could be even more frustrating than usual for those navigating the Fair Oaks Parkway intersection with Interstate 10, where the first of two weekend shut-downs begins Friday at 9 p.m. that even the Texas Department of Transportation terms “doozies.” The Fair Oaks project, which involves the demolition of the old parkway overpass bridge and a complete reconfiguration of the intersection, is about half-way through its two-year schedule, and should be done next summer, said TxDOT spokesman Josh Donat. Traffic will use the same detour that has been used there before, with two lanes exiting the highway in each direction, then re-entering after the intersection.
